PROCESSOS DO LUTO EM POEMAS LÍRICOS DE CECÍLIA MEIRELES

RESUMO

A Obra Poética de Cecília Meireles trata de forma abundante do tema da morte. A própria poetisa viveu inúmeros lutos. Aos três anos de idade com a morte de sua mãe (Orfandade, 1939), anos mais tarde o de sua avó materna (Elegia à Memória de Jacinta Garcia Benevides, Minha Avó, 1945) e depois o do seu marido que se suicidou (Elegia, 1945). A partir do estudo destes três poemas, o presente artigo analisará as representações da morte à luz de teorias poéticas sobre a superposição temporal, a forma dos poemas e seus signos gráficos; vamos situá-los na história da morte no Ocidente e interpretá-los em função das etapas do luto numa abordagem psicanalítica.

ABSTRACT

Cecília Meireles’ poems make abundant reference to death. The poet herself suffered much bereavement, in particular after her mother’s death at the age of three (Orfandade, 1939), her grandmother’s death (Elegia à Memória de Jacinta Garcia Benevides, Minha Avó, 1945) and her husband’s suicide (Elegia, 1945). From the study of these three poems, the objective of this article is to identify Cecília Meireles’ representations of death in the light of certain poetic theories on temporal superposition, the structure of the poems and their graphic signs to situate them in the Western history of death as well as to interpret the poems through the stages of bereavement from a psychoanalytic approach.
